Week 12

Shockey became our 3rd two-time winner last week. There are only a couple weeks left, and a few folks have not taken home the prize.

The SEC has a mediocre slate this week. Only 1 decent matchup has #6 ARKANSAS hosting MISSISSIPPI STATE. There are a ton of cupcake games with giant spreads, so it will bevery interesting how many Big Boys can cover them.

The best game may be out west in Eugene, as #4 OREGON hosts #18 USC. If the Ducks can get by the Lane Kiffins, they have a decent shot of playing for the BCS title. There are few other Top 25 match ups that warrant a blog appearance.

#5 Oklahoma @ #22 Baylor
#13 Kansas St. @ #23 Texas
#16 Nebraska @ #18 Michigan

Last but not least, the game that will settle bragging rights in our state. Vanderbilt travels to Knoxville as a favorite for the first time in school history. Can James Franklin continue his magic, or will Derek Dooley win one for the home team ?

Congrats to Andrew Littleton for being our 2nd repeat winner this year. We still have a few weeks left, so there is stills ome money to be won.

Our game of the week features the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry . A little history on the game. The two schools first played each other on February 20, 1892, and have played every year since 1898, sans the WW I and WW II years. Needless to say, their forefathers would be proud of the fine talent these 2 schools have attracted.

In another game with huge BCS implications, #7 Oregon heads south to Palo Alto to take on the undefeated #4 Stanford Cardinal. This is the gem of the weekend, and could help clear up the BCS picture. Regardless, it's clear Oregon is loaded, while Stanford gets an A for effort.

#5 Boise State welcomes their only legitimate conference rival in #24 TCU into town to try and hold on to their BCS championship title hopes. They have to keep winning, or they are done. Either way, there are some nice co-eds to comfort even the most distraught fans.

Once upon a time this game meant a possible NCAA championship berth. Both schools have fallen on hard times, but the tradition of this rivalry warranted an appearance this week.

GAME OF THE CENTURY

It took 9 weeks to get a repeat winner, but Travis Quigley won when Stanford covered against USC after a goaline fumble. It takes a little bit of Luck to win when picking 15 games.

The football Gods have blessed the nation with an incredible match up this weekend that could settle the BCS National Title. The #2 ranked University of Alabama Crimson Tide welcome #1 LSU Tigers into T-Town for a battle of the ages. These have clearly been the 2 best teams in college football all season, and now they get to settle it on the field. We can only hope the game lives up to the nauseating hype we will see all week surrounding this SEC showdown.

This week's blog showcases to the ladies who cheer for these two SEC powerhouses.

Amazingly, there is another Top 10 match-up featuring two SEC teams in Fayetteville, Ar. that is getting almost no pub. For that, I will honor these schools by showing they can hang with the big boys when it comes to the female persuasion.

Week 9 Ode to the SEC

Boomer Sooner, Littleton Won

It was a bittersweet weekend for our Week 9 winner. Andrew took his first victory of the 2011 season, but his Oklahoma Sooners may have destroyed their BCS title hopes with a loss at home to unranked Texas Tech. They have a chance, but it will take alot to get back to the head table.

That being said, we have a light week for games in the SEC. Since some teams have yet to make an appearance on the LATTICE blog this year, I thought it would be nice to do a mid-season tribute to the 12 SEC schools better half.

I had to give some props to Trent Richardson, who ended an Ole Miss player's season without even touching him.

And now the true reason we all love going to games across the SEC.
